^^^ I love that kind of sour pungency black pepper has. That sounds really good.

I never like to take a chance on local beers because our brewers frequently like to hop the living shit out of their beers.
That happens a lot here too. I never knew you could make a hoppy lager but apparently Stone thinks it's a good idea. I felt lied to by the label. Well I'm taking The Who's advice and I won't get fooled again.

Canadian Club - they are so refreshing I'm becoming an alcoholic on them.

Having a Dark And Stormy (ginger ale and spiced rum), using one of the treats we brought back from England.

Another score of good but cheap beer: a 15-pack of Founders Solid Gold Pilsner for $10.99.

Today I racked the wine to the secondary to clear and age. I tried a little bit. It's pretty good. It definitely is a dry wine. The flavor is like a noiret wine (which is a peppery tasting wine) that married a sour beer without the beer taste. It's quite pleasant. I'm interested in how it changes as it ages. I think this will taste good with a steak or a sharp cheese.

Toffee apple cider. I came across it in the supermarket and thought I'd try it. I generally don't like the taste of alcohol, but this tastes like liquid caramel 8-)

I had one of the Founder's I bought earlier, then I noticed the wife cracked open the new bottle of bourbon before finishing the already-opened bottled.

That drives me absolutely bonkers, having two opened bottles of bourbon, so I rinsed out my Pilsner glass and used the last of the old bourbon (Maker's 46) to make a whiskey-and-coke with the last of the Diet Coke she had out.

Lavender Earl Grey with lemon, all the windows open and listening to the pouring rain. It started yesterday and is supposed to end...Friday. Yikes!

A white wine spritzer made with $9 Sauvignon blanc, club soda, lemon, limes, raspberries, pineapple, and peach schnapps.
