^^^ You know what franchise is like that for me? Pirates Of The Caribbean.

Honest to god, I could not discern any plot whatsoever beyond "Johnny Depp as a drunken pirate doing pirate stuff drunkenly."

The first two were pretty good. After that they started declining in quality.

Funny we're having this conversation, because I was watching "The Cool Kids" (set in a retirement home) and in one scene, one of the characters was confused by the situation they were in, and he finally burst out with, "I feel like I'm at a Harry Potter movie - I don't know what's going on, but I can't stop watching!"

Wasn't quite sure what to title this one, but it's kind of like those, "Things People In Relationships Will Understand" topics.

Years ago, when we were first married, we were going to the movies and my wife suggested something animated, probably Beauty And The Beast or something like that.

I said I didn't want to see that and when she asked why not, I cracked, "Because I'm not in third grade," meaning "cartoons are for kids."

Ahhhh, the price of saving face in a relationship.

Any other situations/stories like this?
Why so? You’re allowed to change your tastes, especially over a long period of time. Maybe even credit the Mrs. with bringing you around to appreciating a good animated movie: “I used to think animation was for kids, but thanks to YOUR amazing example, my love, I’ve developed an appreciation! Well done you!”

Mr. Rose and I have both changed and developed a-plenty over the 20 years we’ve been together. He used to be terrified of sushi and now he loves it. I used to be an all-black-wearing goth and now I’m a brilliant jewel colors retro goth. Both of us have all kinds of new passions and far expanded social circles.

Just saying, if the former opinion has changed, it’s not “losing face.” People can change, that’s not a bad thing.
