I know we’ve got lots of talented hobbyists on this board - I thought we could use this thread to show off some of the crafty stuff we’ve made! Drawing/painting/embroidery/knitting - whatever you like to do!

I like to knit in my spare time. I’ve made lots of things over the years, but this cute little guy is one of my favourites. I think it’s also the most complicated thing I’ve knitted (just because of the number of pieces involved and the work to sew it all together at the end).

aww, he's lovely! That's a lot work gone into him!

Yes, the knitting is great fun but the sewing up/ stuffing and hoping it actually looks like the intended item afterwards drives me nuts.

I am also into knitting and have at long last expanded my rug weaving to a more professional level as I really need to be able to earn a modest living.

Not being particularly computer savvy, I haven't figured out how to reduce photo size to be able to post here.

@Herb: How long did it take you to make that blue teddy bear?

^I can’t remember exactly (it was a few years ago), but probably around 3-4 months. When I have a knitting project on the go I don’t work on it every day - I usually just pick it up when I feel like it.

Just finished a baby blanket for my best friend, currently expecting her first. This is my attempt to be a good friend despite hating babies.

I made these two little baby hats for a couple of friends of mine who are pregnant and due within a couple months of each other. I hope they fit - I have absolutely no idea how big babies heads are.

I do realize the irony of posting stuff made for babies on a childfree site. I used to mostly knit stuff for adults, but now I see why people love knitting baby stuff so much - it’s so much faster to make and it’s so gratifying being able to finish something in only a couple of hours. It took me forever to make a sweater for husband a few years ago (he’s a big guy, but my sizing was also a bit off so it’s quite loose on him).

^^^ Those are cute.

You can get around the "baby" aspect by telling us they're boob warmers.

I'm going for a naturalistic/rustic look this year for Xmas so I started making some deccies today. I got a load of pine cones and started brushing them with glitter nail varnish (different ones in red, gold, green and silver), just so the tips of the scales have a bit of glitter to them.

This is so much easier, less messy, more discrete, precise and cheaper than buying and using spray paint or rolling them in glitter. Added bonus using nail varnish, the glitter doesn't come off all over your hands and furnishings!

Once they're all dry I'll wire a same colour cluster of them together and add some frosty berries and/or ivy leaves and ribbon. I'll put them in clumps on the tree and make garlands and hanging 'drop' wreaths with them.
