but I’m worried it will stain if I leave it for too long. So I set up a camp chair in front of my washing machine and I’m hanging out here, babysitting the washing machine.
I've accidentally dyed stuff with hair dye e.g. skirting boards, bathroom cupboards etc.but hadn't noticed at the time. A bit bleach does the job, just wiping it over for a few minutes. I managed to get blue dye on the white painted window ledge, again a bit of wiping with bleach brought it off with no yellowing of the paint.

I would think even if the enamel/paint on the washing machine did get stained then bleach would get rid of it.

Here’s my newest knitting project - again, more baby crap. I made this for my best friend’s kid’s birthday. I am actually really pleased with how it turned out!

Yes, it’s pink - because of COVID, I had to order online, and so to make sure the sizing would work out, I bought the yarn that was specified in the pattern. The only colour choices were pink, blue, white (impractical for a small child), and this super ugly lime green colour. So, sadly, I had to settle for a stereotypical “gendered” colour.

Another baby blanket, for a friend who decided to knock up his wife in the middle of a bloody pandemic. I personally think this is a terrible idea, but I’m trying to be a good friend.

Before I started knitting so much, I used to do a lot of cross-stitch. While my most recent cross-stitch is currently still unfinished 18 years after I started it (gah, that cross-stitch is old enough to vote...) I have actually finished projects in the past.

One of my faves is this set of Xmas tree ornaments. My grandmother started on them, finished one, and then found she couldn’t see well enough to do the rest, so she gave them to me and I completed the set. The one that was completed by my grandmother is on the bottom right.

Almost forgot to post this - I made this jacket for my friend’s kid for Christmas. I sent a pic to my other friend and she said the hood looked like a muppet and photoshopped some googly eyes on! I just about died laughing.

So, know how I mentioned my 18 year old cross stitch project upthread? I decided that the pandemic would be a perfect time to complete it. It is finally fucking finished! I’m so thrilled.

I'm so bored, I've decided to learn to crochet. Actually, I sat down with some wool, a couple of hooks, and a "learn to crochet" booklet, and it seems that most of the stitches are easy enough. I just need to learn how to increase and reduce, and get some free patterns, and I'll be ready to make cat toys. That's all I'm aiming for really. I loathe those multi-coloured baby blanket things, I couldn't imagine wearing crocheted clothing. So maybe hats and gloves, but mostly cat toys.
