It's kind of understood, everywhere I've ever worked, that Christmas week, people are expected to take it a bit easier. Most everyone is out, just bare-bones staffing, and as long as the minimum stuff is done, most people are happy to let the folks who *are* working relax a bit for the week.
Well, there's always one "it's a workweek like any other" putz managers in every group. This year, one of them scheduled a meeting with my team for 9AM Thursday (today, the day after Christmas).
Here's the thing - this meeting kind of requires my whole team, not just me, but I'm the only one from my team working this week. What that means is, as soon as everyone is back, my manager is going to tell the other manager to schedule another meeting, since no one is working today. So I'm going to have to sit through this meeting twice.
I also strongly suspect this twerp purposely scheduled this meeting for 9AM just to make sure that the few people on the meeting are up on online right at 9AM. When I got the invitation, I checked schedules, and of course, no one has anything else scheduled today, so this could have been done at 10AM or 11AM, or 2PM, but he chose 9AM, just to make sure everyone is on time for the workday.
What a dick.
