Well, episode 3 (final episode) of Dracula was a turd. Show started slowly, redeemed itself a bit with episode 2, then just squandered it all in an incoherent mess of a final episode.

CarryOn

I loved the first episode, hated the second, thought the third had some good bits.

Overall, having a different director and writer for each episode didn’t work for me. But I did think the final scene was very lovely.

Re Dr Sharma, (Sachs Dewan) I was pleased to see him as I’ve not seen him since
Mr Selfridge and he was great in that.

Because I’m just back on the forum, y’all probably discussed it already - but the Haunting of
Hill House is one of the best things I’ve seen lately. Ironically the last two episodes were the least impressive though. Anyone else watch it?

^We watched the Haunting of Hill House. I liked it, but my husband though they cribbed way too much from 'The Shining'. Not sure why it bothered him, but it did.

^^^ We also watched it. I liked the ending, but I didn't much like any of the characters. Also (a common complaint from me regarding shows nowadays)...too damn long! That show needed some serious editing to make it a bit more focused. By the seventh episode or so, I've completely forgotten what happened in the first few episodes.

We just finished AJ and the Queen. RuPaul basically plays himself but I thought it was cute.

After several recommendations, we've finally started Cuckoo on Netflix. It's funny so far.

this is something I can only say here because I know you'll understand and not panic and ring the Samaritans or whatever...

I haven't seen The Shining, so can't compare. But the only thing that weirded me out fully in Haunting of Hill House was - spoiler alert...oh wait, let me scroll a few lines down so anyone who needs to look away has time to do so..

when Bent Neck Lady is is hanging over the couch and the background voice is saying "no no no no". I am amazed to still be here at 44. I thought I'd have finished myself off by 40. Well, if you'd asked me at 30, that's what I'd have thought.

Other things I just found wonderful, like Tall Man and the way he glides. And also the scene with the dumbwaiter - I don't watch much horror but I think dumbwaiter is a trope, right? But it was good.

then there was the bit with viewing the body - it was not long after I'd seen my father's body so it hit me quite viscerally but I thought it was well done, you could feel the pain "Well, yes, officer, that IS my sister".

I actually only had a free trial with Netflix but I'm going to pay to get it now as I think it has lots of good stuff.

Just about to depress myself watching the Chris Packham documentary about overpopulation. There's also a series on BBC about the Profumo affair which I mean to watch - don't know much about it though.

I've been watching Letterkenny on Hulu which is quite hilarious. On the opposite spectrum, I've also been binging the 3rd season of Anne with an E.

We just started watching Requiem on Netflix. I should like it - supernatural mystery/thriller, British, and it's six one-hour episodes, start to finish. Any more than that, and I lose interest.

Ooh CarryOn, I will look that up.

I’m rewatching Whitechapel, I can never find anything to equal it.
