There aren't many forums where you can bitch about kids. I'm on a Facebook group for older women who lift - powerlifting and Olympic lifting. One was complaining that at a meet she went to, there was a 10 year old lifting, and the announcer made an annoyingly big deal out of it every time this kid came up to the stage. The poster was in her 70's and the oldest person there by 10 years, but no pump up for her! I commented that sure, encouragement's all fine and good, but this is why of many of these kids today are such asshole snowflakes- because everyone fawns over them like they're the second coming of Christ. She's just another competitor and should be treated as such. It's her parents and her coaches job to pump her up, if she needs it, not the announcer.

I basically got ripped a new one.

Fuck that.

I'd gone into town early this morning and was pushing my radio buttons in the car and landed on this doozie on one of the AM stations that do a religious bit on Sundays:

"A girl grows up, she marries, she has children, and she keeps a home for her family. That's *natural*! And beautiful! That's God at work!"

"Satan, though, abhors God's good work. A woman who wants a 'career' over children, a woman who will put herself first...that's Satan at work! That's Satan at work!"

"Think about the poor souls who have a sour dough starter to worry about. No one ever considers their holiday needs."

I read that post in the comments sections and thought of Herbaceous!! :D
I’m going to start insisting on taking my sourdough starter everywhere with me. Sure it smells kinda funky, but it is a part of me and everyone needs to accept it everywhere! SMELLING WEIRD IS JUST WHAT SOURDOUGH STARTERS DO!!!! HOW DARE YOU SHAME ME FOR MY SOURDOUGH STARTER!!! YOU’VE NEVER KNOWN REAL LOVE UNTIL YOU’VE CARED FOR A STARTER!!!!

Actually this post has reminded me, I should probably feed the damn thing, I haven’t done anything with it for a couple weeks.

I got overcharged by the motel I stayed at in Austin, and they refunded me.

Credit card exchange rate on the charge = 1.37.

Credit card exchange rate on the refund = 1.30.

Fucking banks.

Oh dear lord! I was reading something on reddit and found this comment. It makes me wanna puke! :( :? I dont wanna fall in love with the wrong guy and get bit by baby rabies! That's my worst fear. But then again, didn't say she was CF.
The part in the screenshot about how "it's like a riptide" made me laugh because I instantly thought "And anyone who lives near the ocean knows to swim parallel to the shore to get out of a rip current". I learned that when I was maybe 6 or 7.

Geez, what a ditz at the sandwich shop today:

"Hi Hun, what would you like?"

"I'd like the 6" Veggie Delite, on flatbread, no cheese."

"Sure, what kind of cheese would you like?"

"No cheese, thanks."

"Ok, and what kind of bread?"

"Uh...flatbread. 6" one."

"Got it. What cheese did you say?"

"None. No cheese, please."

"Ok, did you want that toasted?"

"No, that's fine."

"Now, you said Veggie Delite?"

"Yes."

"And what cheese were you having today."

"No cheese! 6" Veggie Delite. Flatbread. No cheese."

"Sure. And did you want that toasted?"

Honestly, this went on forever, with every customer. It took 3/4th of my lunch hour to order my damn sandwich.

What we've got here is... failure to communicate.

So, we were both up early this morning to take DH's jeep in to have steps put on... We were back and he was off to work by 8.30. I started laundry and then started feeling a bit.. well... lost isn't the word, but I'm kinda torn between not wanting to do housework and wanting to do something different...but feeling that I should do something... so I remember that Sur La Table has cooking classes. So I look up the schedule online... and I just missed the start of a pie class that would have been really cool (there's not enough time to drive over there before it starts). Dammit...
